The Ramble 2

Hey guys, so I told you that due to my lack of internet connection, I’m not gonna be able to write often. So sorry but I’ll try to do some catching up now in the exactly five minutes I have, because I have to go order a new phone oh yeah! So this is just gonna be a ramble. First of all, and i can’t stress this enought, THANK YOU SO MUCH TO EVERYONE OF YOU FOR READING MY THOUGHTS! I got over 100 hits in just a week and that’s pretty cool, considering I sent the link to less than 20 pps, so ya. Feel free to send my link to anyone who you think might enjoy this blog, assuming i keep it updated.

So, I passed my driving test last Thursday, with  a 93 and 3/4 percent which is pretty good. So I’m officially done drivers ed! yes! I drove for half an hour today and oh gosh i really gotta go but i have sooo much to say! Man oh man looks like I’m gonna have to make a “The Ramble 2.5” to finish this, because I want to publish this now so you all won’t think I’ve forsaken you, although you all were forewarned that I can’t update often. So, assuming you haven’t done so yet, sign up at the side of this article with your email address to recieve my updates when I get time to write, that way you won’t have to check every day! Heh heh, don’t i wish….kidding!

I gotta sign off now, and tomorrow i hope to go to Kensington with my fam and then shop with my friend assuming shoops are open memorial day. so maybe ill write later tomorrow night….or not! I hope so, though! Gotta go, Keep UNraveling!

Short, Sweet and Beautiful

Guys, this is one of my fave poems from when I was much younger. It is by a poet named Henry Wadsworth Longfellow; you may have heard of him; he wrote Hiawatha. Anyways, I have always loved this poem, because it’s short, sweet and to the point!
Keep UNraveling!
I shot an arrow into the air,
It fell to earth, I knew not where;
For, so swiftly it flew, the sight
Could not follow it in its flight
I breathed a song into the air,
It fell to earth, I knew not where;
For who has sight so keen and strong,
That it can follow the flight of song?

Long, long afterward, in an oak
I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end,
I found again in the heart of a friend.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

ooh comment don’t you love it? I know, I’m crazily obsessed. Let’s try a different approach; I’d love to see your comments!

Parallel Parking

Hey, so because of the alarming influence that one author friend of mine has on me, I’m writing this page. “Parallel Parking”; the phrase alone is enough to send the average teen into a frantic frenzy, complete with gasping, hyperventilating, or the average basic repetition of, “OMG! OMG! OMG!” Yeah, you get the picture. Fortunately enough, I wasn’t one of those teens.(Maybe due to the fact that I have seen my mom skillfully maneuver our red 12-seater van into tight spots on countless occasions-you go mom!) At least, I wasn’t freaking out until my dad said, “Get into reverse, you’re too close to the curb.” Then, in my aforementioned van, I suddenly came to the realization that…”Dad, am I parallel…PARKING?” His response, of course, sent me into the typical teenage reaction.

However, thank G-d, I got through it; I did OK. So I wasn’t too nervous when I left my house at 8:15 tonight to go learn how to park with my driving instructor and my author friend.

My friend went first, and she did wonderfully, parking regularly. Then it was my turn. I don’t remember much of it, but I guess that’s a good thing. We had to back into a spot, pull out, back in, and pull out again, three times. First time was maybe OK, second time I nearly hit the cone, and third time…I honestly don’t remember.:) But the parallel parking was fairly easy for me; I did three beautiful parks, hit no cones, and there’s an ant on my screen.

No, that wasn’t to see if you’re paying attention, I know you are (I’m such a suck up, right?) But there really is a little black thing crawling over my mom’s laptop. At first I’m like, “Huh, is that my mouse cursor?” Because they are soo lifelike nowadays. As I’m sure you cant tell, I just discovered that “CTRL” + “I” = italics,  which I obviously get great pleasure from writing in. Just kidding, I always knew that shortcut, but still, it’s fun! And I just opened Google desktop, so maybe don’t try out that combination- I think “SHIFT” got in there! But, where was I?

Oh, the ant, which I keep accidentaly spelling, “aunt” but you didn’t have to know that, that’s what backspace is for! Well, too late, ha ha! So, the ant is gone, and now back to the parallel parking. It was great. I executed some “iffy” turns on Greenfiled Rd, but otherwise my 30 min. drive after parking was reasonabally good. As long as my Driver’s Ed instructor aint reading this, I’m cool! Should I post this under Ramble or Driving? Hmmmm……Keep UNraveling!

OK, so I started some type of Biology course a while ago, including lots of reading from some Bio 101 textbook. Very interesting stuff, these asexual amoebas. However, since I got the book out of the library, I reached the point where I had to return it. I got out this hilarious video called Standard Deviants Biology. Biology is not the only subject they cover, I’m not sure what else they have; you can Google it. Point being that these guys (a group of comedians and actors) are absolutely hilarious. They give a two hour overview of biology, which, assuming you know the course, is just a good review, and if you don’t know stuff, it’s a good primer as well, though of course it doesn’t take the place of a real conventional science course. Although, technically because of that awesome fact that I’m homeschooled, I don’t need to do conventionaly. But I kinda do anyways. Go figure. Instead of taking a trip with my family around the world in a caravan, as one wannabe homeschooler thought of doing, I, as an actual homescshooler, sit on my bed and fill my head with facts. Ha. My fingers are tingling, and I don’t know why. Peace out, and get the movie out. Once again, Standard Deviants, here’s a link to some of the DVD’s they sell, check out your library as well.  whoa thats a long long link, but well worth it! hee hee!

The Ramble 1

Well hi. This is me, and you are going to be a part of the unraveling of my thoughts. Starting for all those who don’t know me, I am fifteen years old and homeschooled, and I like to think I’m tall. I’m about to get my permit, assuming I pass the written driving test. I started this blog (it’s not my first and it probably won’t be my last:)) because some of my friends have been starting blogs and hey, peer pressure sums it up pretty well!

So I don’t have internet connection on my computer at the moment, but once I do I’ll be able to update regularly. In the meantime, however, some of the thoughts on my mind are

Summer plans-duh. These include shopping for camp, packing, getting rides, making accomadation arangements and lots of last minute details, all to be completed in under two weeks. Gosh. If you’ve been wondering why I’m so stressed out….

School- enough said. Like, what am I doing next year? I don’t know. and it’s almost done this year. And yeah, that’s that.

Family- wow. Here we go. So it can be a big fat pain in the everywhere being part of a big family. There’s like a never ending, never completed chore list, but there’s lots of good times too. Use your imagination on that one.

Schoolwork- am I here again? Well, it differs from school plans for the future, because schoolwork reminds me that at 9:55p.m. I have not finished it yet. Due to the fact that I went…

Driving- for an hour today. A couple of scares, but I’m an ameture however the heck it’s spelled. So as long as we don’t share the same road, cheer me on! Whoo!

I gotta go and do some schoolwork….soon.
